Perhaps Slade needs to put his books on tape for all of you parents with wee ones!

OR... you parents can just read them to the little ones as bedtime stories!

"I did make my own avatar, yeah...I'm a bit of a Photoshop enthusiast. I wonder if anyone can spot what it was based on?"

Looks like a Mandalorian skull, to me, bladesman. Great work!!

Did abit of sliding around on the new look forum before I was able to re-register and post. Still unfamiliar with some of the buttons. 8 days to go until Episode III. WOO HOO!!!!!!! :D

What else can I say about me??? It's a sunny day out, partly cloudy. There are logging trucks galore rolling past my office, they're taking out the trees killed off in the big fire here last summer. That's kind of a good news/bad news thing for me. Right now, I'm working as an adminstrative assistant for our band's economic development society. Taking out fire-killed trees will bring some dollars into our community coffers if it's done correctly but at the same time there is tremendous concern over potential environmental damage. The fire burned out a large tract of trees in the watershed that provides a lot of drinking water for a lot of people so you can imagine the politics that were involved. I'm not as directly involved in local politics as I used to be ( I really burned out on it.) but I still try to keep abreast of issues. It's our duty as human beings to stay informed, I think. Anyone agree??

EZ Rhino,

You have been missed. I suspect everyone who used to haunt the Old Board feels the same way. Now if we can find Axe and few more strays, it will be Old Home Week at the New Board.

introducing myself

Postby mortis1969 » Wed May 18, 2005 10:13 pm

My name is Dominic, I'm 35 from northwest ohio. I'm a retail manager. I love to read; books are my life-long passion. Some of my favorite authors are dennis Lehane, dan simmons, robert mccammon and of course, michael slade. dan simmons' "summer of night" is an amazing horror novel, robert mccammon's "swan song," "they thirst," and "boy's life" are books that will stay with you forever and bring a smile to you whenever you think back on them. I love Led Zeppelin, the best band ever; I also love Rush, the second greatest band ever! I've seen them three times, they are like gods to me. I enjoy writing, poetry and a novel to someday be...i enjoy non-fiction, american history, richard nixon fascinates me..the all-consuming dark side of the man...i can relate. I welcome any and all replies, Dominic

Welcome to the Board, Mortis.

You said: "hoping to meet and converse with intelligent, well-rounded individuals."

I don't know about intelligent, but the more I eat, the more "well-rounded" I become.

Post away.

Welcome mortis1969!

I'll try to keep my comments intelligent. It might be hard.

Wait - as Yoda says there is no try. So after this post my comments WILL be intelligent.

Hope you enjoy the board.
