Adrien Brody!!! I think he would make a very good Al Flood!

Adrian Brody as Al Flood....I like it! He has a quirky on-screen persona, enhanced by Interesting roles. ( "The Pianist", "The Village")
Colin Farrell might make a good Zinc, except he would have to gain some muscle. He has more of the " handsome ladies man", look, not the " ruggedly handsome" look Zinc has. ( Fans of Hugh Jackman know what I'm talking about.)

I don't want Colin Farrel anywhere near this thing - can't stand the guy.

He's already ruining the Fright Night remake by being Jerry Dandridge in it. Don't want him ruining any film made of a Slade novel. :x

RIP Maury Chaykin

Postby marcd » Wed Jul 28, 2010 6:15 pm

Here's an actor who could have been a great choice for Avacomivitch(spelling?) or the Queen's Counsel from Evil Eye(sorry, his name escapes me)...
so sad to Maury no longer here (1949-2010)

Yes I realize his look would not have quite fit to Joe's description, but I think anyone could look past that and see a great character actor pull it off for either one.

Seeing as we've got a couple of people participating here now that haven't taken part in this thread in the past, and may just like to, let's reboot the discussion about casting the film.

These are the characters that Slade wanted input on who should play them, when the film was more of a sure thing than it is at the moment:

DeClercq
Genevieve
Suzannah
Spann
Scarlett
Flood
Mad Dog
Blake

I'm assuming these are the main characters in Wil Zmak's script.

What are your suggestions for who should play them?

So far, these would be my choices for some of the characters:

DeClercq - Lambert Wilson (The Merovingian from the two Matrix sequals)
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0933727/
Genevieve - it might be fun to reteam him with Monica Bellucci as Genevieve
Suzannah
Spann
Scarlett - George Eads (Nick Stokes from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) or Joe Manganiello from True Blood
Flood
Mad Dog - Ray Stevenson
Blake - Gerard Butler

Although he may be a bit too old for the role, Gary Stretch might make for a good Rick Scarlet too. He acted circles around Colin Farrell in a scene from ALEXANDER.

No clips but an interview:

She has got a great look but can she act , Spann is going to be a very hard role to play

She might even work as Suzanna:

As far as Slade is concerned, their level of fame doesn't matter, as long as they're quite capable of playing the character they've been cast as.

I'm assuming you mean her for Spann ... she might be quite good in the role.

At 5'6", she's not quite as tall as I'd prefer, since I think you need to be tall in order to look good in the red serge dress attire.
