Who would you pick to play?

A place for Sladists to share their thoughts on Michael Slade and his work...

Hi All,

I feel Angelina Jolie would be perfect for Donnella. Perfect blend of hot seething sensuality, beauty and the ability to play any sort of role from evil to romantic. Would also be good to play Jenna Bond.
Gill Macbeth would be played to perfection by Marge Helgenberger of CSI fame.
As I'm new here and this is my first post I was wondering is the Slade in the forums Jay and Rebecca actually responding to our posts?

I think that the two actress that you picked are purfect for those roles. As for Kat what about the girl from Casper, I can't htink of her name right now, however I think she would be perfect to play Cat.

Yep Bill,

The man himself, has responded to your post. And Rebecca goes by the moniker Pink Slade around here.

This board has the best participation level by the author we're all reading of any author message board I've seen.

The girl to play Kat in my mind remains the girl who is now on tv showing skin care products who was the lil girl from Remember the Titans. The girl from The Crow will be too old now to fill that role.

The big question now is - how much longer til I am rich enough to be given the Rights to make this become reality. Slade has said for years people have discussed turning his novels into film but I truly wanna make it happen. And most important create the project with the best visionaries of the business but also incorporate the minds/visions of we devoted fans on here so as to not disappoint. But you can't always please everyone right.

Excellent choice Bill! And welcome to the boards! I've been a big fan of hers since she played K.C. in China Beach.

Crafty, are you referring to the movie with Christina Ricci as the girl and Bill Pullman as her father?

For some reason, I have Avril Lavigne (spel?) stuck in my head as the perfect "Kat" type. There is just something about her and a mad-hatters hat.

That's the Christina Ricci, although i like Avril Lavine as well. I wonder if she would choose to act?

I think another question might be... can she act? :)

a lil too big and grown up now if you ask me to fill the shoes of that character.

An Avril should disappear silently like Barney the Purple Dinosaur.

I am sorry but Avril doesn't really deserve to be on the radio let alone integrated into this epic that one day will be realized.

or JLo, puff daddy, justin timberlake, etc! keep MTV goofs in their own realm.

Slade,

I hope for your reputation's sake Holllywood NEVER gets their paws on your work!! It'd be a travesty! Maybe and Indie could do it justice but I doubt it!

what if we do an indie version of it Rushgirl and incorporate all of us devoted forum identities to fill in the specific roles. would at least make from some interesting experience. We all would fight over who gets to play what role I bet. at least that in itself would be humorous for a lil while.
