Just remember to take lots of pics!!! I just got home from my retirement party . . . After basking in the glow of many friends who came . . . . we had a great time. :D I am now officially a retiree . . . Yeah!!! My last work day was Saturday and I'm looking forward to reading the 300+ books waiting in the wings and playing with the camera I bought over a year ago and and learning about the photography I bought the books about. Plus play all the computer games I've bought over the years and not had time to play. It's so wonderful to have time to call my own. I am truly blessed.
Everyone going to bloodywords . . . have a great time my friends . . . I will be thinking of you.

Ok...

A certain Michael Slade has bigged up Vancouver, and Victoria in most of his books..
So when said author is in town, the one book store me and Sladist found has two books, Red Snow, and Kamikaze... In fiction..
Not in Candiana fiction, but in general fiction..

W.T.F???

Ok they have one in the window with an upside down skull and crossbones, but come on guys, a little bit more oomph.. the authors in town..

And Sladists bagel was very nice...

And before Sladist rants about Dunkin Donuts coffee... Hortons coffee at the airport, the Vanilla Cappuccino was really good..
And i love the waterfall under the escalators.. and the sculptures.. wow..

Was the book store called Bolems? If so, that was Steely's favourite haunt. He lived a few doors down from the store.

Did she manage to find that Cinnabon that is supposed to be at the airport somewhere?

No .... I did not.
But alas, I shall persevere and overcome.

It's so lovely here. Reminds a great deal of Baltimore inner harbour (look a U!) but much cleaner. And the people are so nice!

The book store was called Munro's Books. I went in and asked, "Where can I find Slade?"
and she headed for the computer, "Slade? Slade? OH! Michael Slade?"
I replied, "Is there any other Slade?"

The Fantastic Fiction website has several authors by the last name of Slade listed ... Arthur Slade, Jack Slade, Jessa Slade, Mark Slade, Michael Slade, and Nicola Slade. Plus, there's even another Michael Slade who's written a book:

The book shop was Munroe's..

So cool, i got to meet Mr Slade, WOO HOO...
and we went on a ghost walk around Victoria, at midnight, and all the ghost that were conjured by MSlade, and the Mystery Theatre was brilliant..
and i meet Tess Gerritsen, and William Deverell, who employed Slade and taught him laywer-ing ish back in the day.

All really really good..

Having loads of fun...and yes Sladist, Rush, and me are taking loads of pictures..

Tonight is the banquet, so hopefully somebody will take a photo of us dressed to the nines..

Anybody out.... the next ghoul meet, you HAVE TO COME TOO..
