150 years of London Underground

Postby dreab trawets » Fri Jan 11, 2013 5:43 pm

Jan 12 2013 marks 150 years since the first steam train ran underground between Paddington and Farringdon..

And on Sunday they are running it again.. though a little bit longer this time..

Think about that
1863....
And the stations and tunnels are still there...
Some things for you to peruse..hopefully

DT ... the link only leads me to a gallery of pics I've used as avatars on Google+. Could you maybe post them over on Facebook?

Yep..the first trip from Olympia via earls court and baker st to moorgate..
But the video didn't come out..

Wow..
Very cool..
We had to call out the signal colours to the driver, red, green etc.

And with the line knowledge we can tell them hills, and points etc..

Woo woo..
Xx

To all..
They are on my facebook page, plus a link to the co pilot donnas video of coming into farringdon station..
And this is another view...
At the start the red and white train is the sort of trains I drive now..

About 3.20 in you see it leaving Olympia with a guy wearing an orange hi vi in the engine cab...
That's me..
