John Furlong, the guy behind the olympics in vancouver, has been accused of beating on kids in residential school in Burns Lake back in 1969. The articles in the Georgia Straight have more detail than the vancouver sun piece:

http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/Lake+Babine+first+nation+calling+RCMP+investigation+into+John+Furlong/7316430/story.html

It's a silly observation of mine, but when a public figure 'categorically denies' accusations made against him/her, doesn't it seem that those allegations often turn out to be true? Maybe it's my cynicism getting the better of me.
I wish the media would report more on public service and charity news instead of gossip. It is of much greater value. - Jackie Chan
