I haven't seen it (and won't---I didn't like The Dark Knight and have no interest in this one), but there have been plenty of cases over the years proving that.....

Yeah, The Dark Knight Rises was well worth the price of the ticket. A fantastic conclusion to the franchise. Sick Thing you must be sick, but hey, to each their own.

I figured this was as good a place as any to put this:

A fan of the movie '12 Angry Men' made gif images of all the jurors. I'm pretty sure there's a couple of sladists on this site who liked that movie.

The Dark Knight Rises was a helluva good movie. Anne Hathaway's Catwoman was the role Michelle Pfeiffer should have had 20 years ago. Damn!

Watched a dvd of The Raid: Redemption last night. There is a guy's movie if there ever was one. Lots of martial arts action. You've seen the type before but it's worth the viewing if you want blood and punches and kicks between cops and crooks.

Just saw bits and pieces of a documentary called Poster Girl. It's the story of an american women and her struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome after she served in Iraq with the US military. I didn't catch all of it, or even most of it but a scene where she describes her despair and panic hit pretty close to home with me and I knew exactly how she felt. Had me tearing up for a good minute or two.

Seems like she's recovering; her name's Robyn Murray and the website is here:

Well I'm finally watching HYSTERIA . . a film that mbwun mentioned some time ago. It's finally out on DVD about the "problems" of women in the Victorian age . . . I'm finding it extremely funny . . . and I think I'm going to buy a copy for my movie collection!!!

Sometimes people need to see the clash of battle. The days of wooden ships and iron men, the ring of steel on steel. To crush your enemies and see them driven before you and to hear the lamentation of their women. That said, I don't know if I'll ever be seeing something by Michael Bay again. That guy is a bad movie maker. He produced Battleship, didn't he?

No, Michael Bay had nothing to do with BATTLESHIP, as far as I know. He's definitely not in the credits for it.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1440129/fullcredits#cast

I would say that BATTLESHIP reminds me a lot of the first of Bay's TRANSFORMERS films though.

I really enjoyed the way they cast real life war veterans in the film. There are several war veterans attending a ceremony near the beginning of the film, one of them a WWII veteran. A war veteran who lost both his legs to an IED in Iraq plays a significant role in the film, and when the - now, pretty much a museum piece - Battleship, USS Missouri, saves the day at the end of the film, it is manned by several war veterans from the Korean, Vietnamese, and other conflicts.

I also got a kick out of the way they had the alien ships firing weapons that looked like the little pegs you use in Battleship, as well as how they worked the playing grid into the film. Plus, it had a lot of good, humourous moments in it.

The film was just good, old-fashioned, fun in my opinion. Nothing to take too seriously - a great popcorn flick.

Damn right.. Battleship good going, popcorn eating fodder.
A sit back, stuff your face, and watch the special effects kinda film.

Loved it..
And yes i cheered when the alien got shot off the boat..

I love those kind of films.

Always America though..

I watched what I think is one of the best films I've ever seen last night ... AMAZING GRACE ... about those who worked both for and against the abolishment of the slave trade in Great Britain. It must be one of those films that flew completely under the radar around here, as I had never heard of it until lately.

One extraordinary cast, putting out powerful performances all around.

It would appear by the link at the top right corner in the above link, that you can watch the entire film on Youtube.

It comes with my highest recommendation.
