The Star Wars Universe

So it appears that Disney will acquire the rights to the Star Wars franchise.

I'm excited that there will be more movies in the future. I"m waiting to see how this huge corporation will treat this intellectual property. Will it grow even more than it has now? Will there be a new 3d movie trilogy? Probably. Will there be a presence on a major network? I don't get the cartoon network so I only have been able to watch the first two seasons of the Clone Wars series and have enjoyed them thoroughly.

I'm looking forward to how things could turn out. There were so many complaints about Lucas' writing and how it messed up the prequel trilogy that I just couldn't bear to hear any more about it.

Just hope that Disney will do a better job of marketing Star Wars than they did the RCMP.

I'm just excited that George Lucas won't be directing them anymore, lol, the best Star Wars films were the two he didn't direct.

I'm open-minded. Someone can do better, but that doesn't mean that they will. Return of the Jedi is my least favorite and Empire Strikes Back is my favorite so it's not really about George Lucas for me when it comes to the director.

I'd kind of like to see Joseph Kosinski direct. He did Tron: Legacy. Visually appealing. Everything else is up to the writers.

When I first read this news I was so bummed out...

I just had this image of a poor work horse laying dead in the street while a bearded dwarf in flannel and a demented mouse whipped the corpse while laughing maniacally.

After hearing Harrison Ford's named mentioned as coming back I felt even worse.

Now the dwarf and mouse are joined by an old man holding an glass skull...

I'm very sad.

If they are really bringing back Hamill, Ford, and Fisher then my interest will fall somewhat. I want new characters and new stories. I'm not closing myself off to future films, but if they think that bringing those people back will magically 'fix' everything then they are sadly mistaken. I personally don't want to see them return. Perhaps others do?

I had understood from a young age that eps 7-9 were about Princess Leah bringing Luke back from the dark side. But doubtful that this will be the story line that will be developed.

I hope that the new Siths are equally killer!

Cool bounty hunters

Cool landscapes/planets/vehicles/etc

but they don't solely focus on green screens and visual effects but instead do a solid trilogy that have sustainability and over all strong film - actors, story, effects, plot, etc!

Fingers crossed!

And there has to be some Wookie noises for sure!

remove any silly quirky fluffy furry fur balls or side kick for laughter sake,
remove any senseless graphical imagery,
remove any PC actions and keep it raw and as originally intended.
remove excessive over done CGI and film on location

Basically do it justice!
