The A-Team was one of my favorites. I balanced that out with Charlies Angels. That used to be one that my sister and I would "play" in the backyard. I could never get her to "play" the A-Team though

First, I must humbly trumpet the fact that I work at the agency that produced that GEICO Speed Racer spot, though I wasn't personally involved at all. (Waits for applause.) Glad you liked it.

Second, my childhood (and, well, my adulthood too) was ill-spent in front of the tube. A lot of the shows I loved then are in my DVD collection now and they're wonderfully cheesy:

1. Starsky and Hutch

2. Wonder Woman

3. Kolchak: The Night Stalker

7. Gunsmoke

8. The Fall Guy

9. The Big Valley (I was a huge Lee Majors fan.)

10. Columbo

15. Battlestar Galactica (The original.)

16. Buck Rogers

Others were more obscure:

First off MANY thanks to all who've responded so far to this thread, it's a bit of a blast and I'm pleased that I've evoked happy memories to all...Please keep them coming; some programmes for some reason never made it over the Atlantic, so's it's an oppener to hear of those
theat didn't!.

Just as I'm sure there are quite a few old Blighty progs you've never heared either, One of which IS STILL going strong to this day, and it started back in 50's on BBC One.
And It's unlikely either ABC NBC CBS, CBC et al ever HAD a show quite like it. True it's evolved, changed ever so slightly it is called Blue Peter.

Don't know if it classifies as "Classic Television" yet but how about Mystery Science Theatre 3000?

A poor janitor is kidnapped by mad scientists and held hostage aboard the Satellite of Love, the subject of a nutball experiment. Kept circling the Earth in an endless orbit with only two robots fashioned out of Tupperware for companions, he suffered from an endless monotony.

To add to the injustice of it all he is forced to watch some of the worst movies ever made during the 40s, 50s, and 60s. The movies were bad, but the insults that the three of them slung at the screen made you want to watch the episodes over and over and over again.

One of the movies they were forced to watch was a goofball adventure called Eegah that starred Richard Kiel (Jaws of James Bond fame). I found this kooky website while websurfing the other day dedicated to the film. I thought you'd like to take a look for yourselves.

http://www.eegah.com/

There's a link to a wacky flash called "The Richard Kiel Experience" on the Links page - it doesn't work but you can find the thing here:

I will start off with two British shows that I still love today:

The Avengers

This has to be one of the coolest shows ever made. Just don't get me started about the movie...

Dr. Who

First episode was broadcast the day Kennedy was killed in 1963. Ran until 1984, missed 18 months, then lasted until 1989. Longest running sci-fi show in history. (Take that Star Trek!) They began running new episodes again last year. It also had a great theme song...

And who growing up in the '70s could forget classics like this one:

and it's spin off:

Oh! Almost forgot about The Young Indiana Jones:

Which reminds me of Tales Of The Gold Monkey:

This was a good one too:

Good show, but short lived due to the star accidentally shooting himself to death.

But I have to say, my favorites were The Dukes of Hazzard, V, Battlestar Galactica, and Buck Rogers.
