Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd just post this here. Someone's list of the 10 greatest science fiction detective novels of all time:

I would definitely vouch for ALTERED CARBON by Richard Morgan. If you haven't read his Takeshi Kovacs trilogy, you really ought to.

I thought MarylandManson would be interested in knowing that I found a copy of GOOD TIME GIRLS OF THE ALASKA YUKON GOLD RUSH, by Lael Morgan, at the Salvation Army Thrift Store the other day.

I believe it was MM that recommended it to me a few years back when I posted something about the sinking of the CPR steamship Princess Sophia, in response to my mentioning Lulu Mae Eads in my post. Not a great deal more about Lulu Mae in the book, other than what you'd already told me in your post, but the book sure is chock-a-block full of very interesting information about the other ladies of the North country back then.

Makes me think that someone should produce a tv programme - a la DEADWOOD - but based in the Klondike during Gold Rush days.

Couple of fun ones so far..

Always wondered if you would do any short stories guv'nor.

Maybe set at a red serge dinner.
All the special x sitting around telling stories to see who has the best..
I am sure you have little stories floating around..

Of course not many left in the group so may have to be retrospective..
