I need to watch one of those. It's been a while.

I really liked the Jeremy Brett Holmes series, but nothing tops Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce in my book. Those are the ones I grew up with, and everything else pales in comparison.

Speaking of which, I recently bought a used DVD of The Hound of the Baskervilles with Matt Frewer as Holmes. I'm a big fan of Frewer's work, but I'm not sure I can handle his fake British accent here. (I popped it in for a minute to see him, but haven't had time to actually try to watch it yet.)

I don't know if you saw my post on another thread or not, Slade, but my wife and I are enjoying Rome a lot, thanks to your recommendation.

ROME gets better and better as it builds to a two-season climax. The plot twists are jolting. The violence is electric. The sex forces you to keep a rag nearby to wipe steam off the screen. The problem with a show like that is it spoils lesser fare.

When I look back on the past viewing year, three things stand out:

ROME
DEXTER
CASINO ROYALE

Damn my eyes!, I almost forgot this, came across these
two sites, it might be of interest to fellow Sladists :D :P

Try these on for size.

You can either choose from A to, Zed or you can choose from Documentaries, Music Videos, Streaming TV Shows, or even scroll further down for some other nice things.

I'm spending a very pleasent night sitting on my brains for once, and watching some of the enitre
FIRST season of "Torchwood". Enjoy your evenings viewing no bloody (.)@#Kin' adds either.! :D. Have fun Sladists..and you will. :P :D

Sheesh! Talk about a threadjack!!!

Now, to try and at least steer it back to the topic of the thread.

Last night, a Photoshop link that I had greenlighted a number of days ago went live to the Fark mainpage. Thought you guys might like to take a look at the outcome:

http://forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comment ... nk=2641609

And here's a link to the article I got the source picture from:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jh ... oman27.xml

I thought it was pretty neat that they finally managed to find one of these things. Too bad they haven't found one from one of the more well-known Roman Emperors, I'd like to see one of the ones with an eagle on the top.

Here's an image search thingie that's being touted by the Fark Photoshoppers these days:

Instead of thumbnails that you have to click on, and then hope it's still on the page you're brought to, you get full-size images in whatever size you choose to search for.

I read a story in the paper the other day about a family who started a charity foundation to help impoverished children in Nicaragua. Good on them. Here's the website:

And here's some pictures from a fundraising gala held last year by the people who started the foundation:

I've only travelled outside BC three times and not very far at that. What I've read over and over from people who have been able to travel is that often, people in the poorest countries are some of the warmest and friendliest people. That surprises me and I've always thought of myself as someone who isn't surprised at what people do. Time to rethink my views on humanity in general, I guess.
I wish the media would report more on public service and charity news instead of gossip. It is of much greater value. - Jackie Chan
