And my Daughter and I were having a snowball fight here in the usually sunny and warm Dallas.

RED SNOW will be re-titled for the next edition.

It's RED RAIN by Michael Slade, instead.

Peter Gabriel might take issue with that Slade.

The first words I wrote as Michael Slade (in HEADHUNTER) were "In this city, it often rains." Olympians are getting a taste of real Vancouver weather. It's supposed to pour tomorrow for the opening ceremonies, and they say clearing the security lineup will take 4 hours. I wish I'd bid to be the Official Olympic Umbrella Provider!

12 inches of snow on the ground today in North Dallas. More than I've seen in the entire 17 years I've lived in Dallas County. I even had to shovel the walk (without a snow shovel since they are non-existent here)

So, how's the weather at the Olympics?

Maybe the new Olympic Rings symbol should be rain clouds and frowny faces...

Here where I live, it rained heavily in the night. This morning we have cloud cover, but it's thin enough that it's quite bright out. Out to the east, the cloud cover is thin enough that we have a bit of a "sunrise effect" happening.

But I think we're expecting a fair amount of rain today. Haven't heard the most recent forecast though.

All in all, it sounds as if it's going to be WET SNOW for most of the events.

Slade will do his first public signing - the actual "launch" - of RED SNOW on Saturday, February 20:

http://www.chapters.indigo.ca:80/Store- ... promo.html

The books will be inscribed "Signed on the Road to Whistler during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games."

In March, I'll do a series of signings at other Chapters and Indigo stores, and up at Whistler at Armchair Books.

RED SNOW's in its 3rd printing, so for those of you with 1st printings, their value just went up.

The Martin Ansin illustration (two versions, scroll down) is now up at the Slade Website:

The games haven't even started, and there's already one athlete dead. That track may wind up being deadlier than your book Slade.

Still punishing the first nations at the opening ceremony by making them dance for all the athletes coming in, could be about 70 mins..
Nothing changes...

Still obsessing on MST3K, eh PohlSE?

I don't think I'd have to worry about getting tangled up in other people's skates when it comes to those speed skating skates, as I'm sure I'd wind up getting tangled up in my own, and slashing myself all up. Not to worry though, as I have a hard time remaining upright on a pair of figure skates.

By the way, I've fixed my broken picture up above.
