2013 World Horror Convention

Postby SickThing » Wed Jun 19, 2013 2:14 pm

This past weekend, I attended the 2013 World Horror Convention. One of the highlights of the weekend was finally getting to meet Slade after all these years!

And here's Slade with Robert McCammon:

Check out Hunter's shirt. He was by far the best-dressed man at the World Horror Convention, thanks to his very stylish wife.

Every day I'd wait to see the pattern on his shirts.

Lookin' good!

I had intended to tune in online on Saturday night to watch the ceremony where Robert McCammon was receiving his lifetime achievement award, but things came up and I couldn't be online that evening.

I would have loved to see that, especially with Hunter providing the introductions.

Thanks! I believe the video will be posted on YouTube sometime in the coming weeks. When it is, I'll post the link.

My wife makes some kick-ass shirts, for sure! :)

Kick-ass shirts is right.

Hunter, if you get a moment, I think we need a "fashion show" of you in a few of your favorites.

I saw one of the other shirts in the photos posted to Robert McCammon's Facebook page.

Your wife looks to be a very talented seamstress.

:) I'll spare you me, but here are three closeups of three of them. Bonus points to anyone who recognizes the third one. I don't have photos yet of the 4th shirt....

Hunter, is she ever good! Is that skull-face in the bottom shot actually in the pattern?

No, the skull on the pocket is a skull button. It wasn't practical as a button, so she just sewed it on to the corner of the pocket. :)

That is a cool idea. It makes it kind of like your own personalized version of a Polo shirt.

I haven't got a clue what the pattern in the third shirt is referring to. You'll have to clue me in.

Speaking as someone who has done some sewing in her lifetime, your wife does a much better job of collars - I could never get them looking just right. The sleeves look much better set in too. Collars and sleeves - very tricky. I didn't have a problem with cuffs though.

It's the wallpaper used in one part of the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney World and Disneyland! 8-)

I've never seen Dana not be able to sew something or not get it right....

Awesome shirts your wife makes Hunter!

I love the shark one and the Haunted Mansion one. Very high on my "dream job" list (if money is no object) is to be a Disney Cast Member working at the Haunted Mansion. Is it wrong that I want to walk through the stretching room and scare people by coming up behind them quietly? :zmby:

The shirts look great. She is talented.

Haunted Mansion, eh? Love that ride. I even own the soundtrack for it.
