Thank you for the kind words, Steelclaw. I had a lot of trouble translating images in my head to images on a computer. The size for each wallpaper is 800 X 600. If anyone would prefer something larger just say the word.

I do need to touch up the crest and wording on the first one though - both are a little off center.

The uniform photo was found on good old Google. The original image was part of a dedication to the members who died during that drug raid this past Spring.

I figured it would be best to have a darker background, plus the man himself needed one. I wasn't sure what else to do (it's been a long day), so this one is pretty basic.

Thanks for the nice words, all. I have to say, this has been a really fun thread to participate in. Everyone has been so full of ideas.

PohlSE, maybe you can help (or anyone else for that matter).

With the black Slade wallpaper above, I originally wanted to feature three generations: Jay at the center, Rebecca to his left, and Jack mirroring to his right. Both Rebecca and and Jack would be positioned behind Jay, sort of a layered look. Now Jay was easy - the image was already set up. But how do I go about cutting out the images of the other two, so that I have shots minus the background (or, more specifically, a black background. The pictures I'm referring to are the profile shots from the main page for Jack (uniform portrait) and the writers section for Pink Slade.

And yes, I was listening to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody while working on it, the video serving as inspiration for the set up of the wallpaper.

I had planned on putting text to the effect of: "A story told by three generations" and having a reference to Swastika.

Anyway, if someone has a suggestion on how to alter the images, I'd be elated.

ok these examples are getting really cool. Seeing the uniform and Stanley park is awesome. The one thing some of have to consider, these corporate friendly websites are still unique but acceptable that you could have it up and people wouldn't think other wise. I love the examples that people keep churningn out.

Fonts wise - hell yeah they are addictive. Try downloading Brushes and you will surely go insane with downloading both things. I will go on a font hunt once a year. It is fun, but unzipping them is a tedious task.

I'll go grab those pictures and cut the background out of them and post them as .GIFs so you, or anyone else who needs transparencies for that matter, can grab them. The one thing that photoshop is really great for is transparencies.

My addition to the collective gallery lacks the creativity that the rest of you have put forth. It's a first attempt, so it's sort of bland.

I left space in the upper left corner to allow for desktop icons.

Man oh man, I'm gone from here due to moving house this past week, and there's just tons and tons to catch up on. You guys have been a bunch of busy little beavers over the past few days.
